Consulting services in board-effectiveness training, strategic planning, board retreat, with the creation and teaching of a Certificate Program in Non-Profit Management and Governance at Berkshire Community College.

DIRECTOR OF TRAINING AND MARKETING 

Blueline Drafting Service, Inc., Pittsfield, lnc, MA       2010 to present
Developed program for training in 2D and 3D Computer Automated Design (AutoCad) for employees of manufacturers, fabricators, contractors, graphic designers. Completed a marketing survey to explore the actual need for these services which showed that access to this training was needed.    

BOARD AND DEVELOPMENT CONSULTANT
MusicLink, Inc., Arlington, VA       2007 to 2009
Independent consultant for national scope fund raising, board development, and planning for this national music organization that provides music instructuon for talented students from low-income families.

EDUCATION COORDINATOR   National Music Foundation, Lenox, MA  1999 - 2002  

Developed and administered the American Music Education Initiative (AMEI) a national grant program  recognizing teachers using American music in their classrooms.

Developed management, fund raising, public relations and program in art, music, dance and theater. Expanded budget from $400,000 to $550,000 and increased income base.

Business and Industry for the Arts In Education, NY, NY 1990-91
Developed fund raising and board development strategies for International and Early Childhood projects connected with Learning To Read Through The Arts.

National Public Radio, PERFORMANCE TODAY, Washington, DC 1988-89
Managed and developed National Endowment for the Humanities grant project," Arts History and Criticism" for NPR's Performance Today program.

VICE PRESIDENT OF PROGRAMS
National Foundation for Advancement in the Arts, Miami, FL  1983-87
Developed and managed the Arts Recognition and Talent Search (ARTS) program, a national scholarship competition for high school seniors in art, music, dance, theater and creative writing and the Presidential Scholars in the Arts program, with annual performances and art exhibitions at the JFK Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, Washington DC.

Developed TV ad campaign and print ads for national distribution for the music instrument and publishing industry, to promote music education in the home, school and community.

SPECIAL ASSISTANT FOR THE ARTS
US COMMISSIONER OF EDUCATION (now Secretary of Education), Washington, DC 1978-79
Developed and managed the Working Group on Arts Education, representatives of Cabinet Departments, Kennedy Center, and Smithsonian agencies. Created and managed the first Arts Education Forum, chaired by Mrs. Walter Mondale, with representation from NAEA, MENC, NDA, ATA, and other education associations of superintendents, principals, teachers and parents.

ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR
John D. Rockefeller 3RD Fund, NY, NY  1971-78
Managed and developed Coalition of States For Arts Education, a ten state national effort to strengthen and develop comprehensive arts programs for their schools. Assisted in the development of the Dance In Schools program for the National Endowment for the Arts. Provided coordination for Project IMPACT, an USOE program in 5 cities.
